This is a 44 year old woman who had a history of 2 prior rhinoplasties and open reduction of a nasal fracture. During her last surgery 10 years ago, a Goretex synthetic implant was placed in her nose by her prior surgeon to replace missing tissue. Unfortunately, after 8 years of having no problems, the Goretex extruded through her skin causing a draining, inflamed chronic wound.
