At the Aesthetic Surgery Center, our facial plastic surgeons are concerned about the total appearance
of the face - structure, form, skin tone, and texture. When evaluating a face, all contribute to the
total appearance. One is not more important than another. To enhance and maintain one component of
the face and not all would be less than pleasing.
The Aesthetic Surgery Center offers personalized physician directed treatment programs for all ages
and all skin types. Skin rejuvenation begins with uniquely simple at-home routines that should be
complimented with office services.
Aging skin, pre-cancerous lesions, acne, acne scaring, age spots, sun damage, blemishes, uneven
pigmentation, large pores and moderate to deep wrinkles can be treated effectively with this
non-surgical technique.
Skincare products and skin maintenance programs offered at The Aesthetic Surgery Center are
based on value, simplicity, and performance. The essential products are Retin-A and Alpha
Hydroxy Acid (AHA) or glycolic acid. Together, they can decrease facial wrinkles, improve
skin tone and texture, decrease brown age spots and discoloration, effectively clear and clean pores,
and give generalized relief from thickened dry skin.
- Retin-A has been found to actually rejuvenate skin cells. Since Retin-A has a very small
molecular size, it can penetrate the cell and "remind" the cell how it made skin when it was young.
- Glycolic Acid unglues dead skin cells from the outer surface creating a fresh and smoother
appearance. Once this heavy, thick layer is removed, Retin-A can penetrate the skin more quickly.
When applied daily, Retin-A and Glycolic Acid will:
- Decrease facial wrinkles caused by photo-aging
- Improve skin tone and texture
- Decrease brown age spots and discoloration
- Effectively clear and clean pores
- Give generalized relief from thickened dry skin
- Hydrate the skin

How do you know when the cumulative effect of sun damage to the skin is too much? Drs. Maloney and Agarwal
recommend that their patients have their photo taken on the UV Reflectance System, which is available
at no charge at The Aesthetic Surgery Center. Using ultraviolet light, the camera shows damage that
isn't visible to the naked eye. Drs. Maloney and Agarwal recommend that you:
- Wear protective clothing
- always use Sun Block - as automatic as brushing teeth
- Avoid "High Noon Hours" (10AM - 3PM)
- Limit amount of unnecessary "Outside Hours"
ex: Avoid sitting outside on a cloudy day without sunblock. UVA still can penetrate and damage.
- Children are exceptionally vulnerable to sun damage. Photo aging can be prevented if caution is exercised at an early age.
- Use UVA and UVB sunblock. DO NOT be misled. Unless UVA is blocked, damaging sunrays are penetrating and not necessarily burning.
- The benefits of facial rejuvenation procedures can be maintained with good sun-sense and good sun block.
- Skin care that is given to the face should be extended to the hands and neck.
- K.I.S.S. - Keep It Skin Simple to optimize the skin's appearance.
