Computer Imaging in Facial Cosmetic Surgery

Does your physician use computer imaging to evaluate your needs?
Facial plastic surgery is a visual art form. At The Aesthetic Surgery Center, we have been performing computerized imaging and facial morphing since 1984. We find this to be a critical part of the patient/physician relationship which is extraordinarily valuable to you, the patient, in being able to envision the benefits and value of your options. Still, only approximately 25-30% of plastic surgeons use computer imaging. If computerized imaging is not offered to you, this is generally a red flag that facial plastic surgery is not a priority of that practice.

How can the imaging computer help?
At the time of your visit to The Aesthetic Surgery Center, you will meet our professional staff. Together we will discuss the surgery you desire and the results you wish to achieve.

A surgical counselor will take your picture and the image will be loaded into the computer. The system's unique capabilities enable Dr. Maloney and Dr. Agarwal to sculpt changes on the computer as you watch. Because you and the doctor do not have to rely on words alone in discussing the outcome of your surgery, communication is greatly enhanced. Our imaging system will assist you and Dr. Maloney or Dr. Agarwal in objectively deciding what is a realistic surgical goal - in light of cosmetic consideration and inherent limitations.

Once a computerized image has been attained that is cosmetically pleasing, a print will be produced and given to you. While this photo is provided for simulation purposes and not intended to be an exact portrait of the "new you," it may encourage more communication between you and Dr. Maloney or Dr. Agarwal as you develop a surgical plan. You may also want to share the photo with a friend or family member whose judgment you trust.
